The Wet Brush

Hello 🙂

I don’t know about you girls, but I hate dealing with wet hair. My hair is really long and I wash it every 2-3 nights, but even though I know I need to brush it through before I go to sleep, I usually don’t. My hair tangles like crazy, but when I take the time to brush it while it’s wet, I can get rid of the hairs that are shedding, the oils on my scalp are distributed more evenly, and my scalp dries faster so it doesn’t get as itchy or flaky. As motivating as that should be, though, no detangling spray or hair brush has ever made this task much easier for me, so I still usually skip taking care of my hair.

I heard about the Wet Brush a while ago from some bloggers and YouTubers, so it’s been on my list for a while. Ulta had a 20% off coupon a few days ago, so I decided to finally pick it up. It retails at $9, so even without the discount, it isn’t too bad if you’re on a budget.

I was a little skeptical about this brush when I bought it, since my hair is so tangly and is even worse when it’s wet. Also, it does smell heavily of rubber, as the back is completely rubberized, and I was also a bit nervous that my hair would catch on it as I used it. But, this really does make brushing my hair easier! The bristles are flexible, which helps it ease out knots without as much risk of breaking the strands. I’m extremely impressed with this brush, and I’ve only used it a few times so far.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one brush that you can use on wet or dry hair, I think this could do the job. It works OK on dry hair, but the flexible bristles are really meant for wet (i.e. weighed down) hair. Even if it seems silly to have separate brushes for wet and dry hair, I really think it’s worth the investment if it means you’ll have less breakage.

Have you tried this brush? What do you think?

    1. You should totally get one! If you can’t find this specific brand, there are a lot of brushes like it. As long as it has flexible bristles it should work perfectly. This one also doesn’t put the bristles in straight rows, which I think is even gentler on tangles.
