I’ve accumulated these matte balms over the past couple of months since they came out, and I think they are some of the best matte lip colors you can get. I have three shades: Sultry, Standout, and Shameless
Packaging: These balms come in packaging just like the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, except the packaging is matte. The balm is in a jumbo pencil form, which is nice for tracing around the lips precisely, and it twists up to about an additional inch of product. The color of the packaging is true to the lip color, so guessing shades is easy.
Product: These balms are extremely pigmented (those swatches above are all with one swipe), and they do stain the lips. They have a similar minty smell to the balm stains and feel very light and moisturizing on the lips. They’re long-lasting and hold up well with eating and drinking. The color doesn’t change throughout the day. Depending on how dry your lips get, you can layer on this product to touch up without any major problems (however, I recommend a lip balm as well).
Color Selection: The line has ten shades, mostly brights. There’s one nude, two natural pinks, two oranges, two reds, a coral, a magenta, and a purple. I hope they come out with more natural colors and a better range of berries and pinks (because you’re about to scroll down and see just how purple Shameless is). I suggest looking at these in person when choosing colors, because the packaging will give you a good idea just how bright it will be on the lips.
Sultry, a natural dark pink
Standout, a bright, true red
Shameless, a PURPLE
Have you tried these matte balms? Which is your favorite shade?
