My Favorite Spring Lipsticks (Drugstore Edition)

Hey!

As the weather has warmed up here, I’ve found myself reaching for those bright, pick-me-up colors. I thought I’d share my favorite drugstore spring lipsticks first, because it’s much more practical to try out bold lipsticks when you’re only shelling out a few dollars.

SO BEAUTIFUL :’)

You’ll notice I didn’t choose to use sheer colors or pastels, and this is because I have larger lips and have trouble pulling those off. I also think lipsticks that pack a little more punch go with a lot more looks, and are more customizable when it comes to coverage. Spring doesn’t limit you to easter egg colors!

Corals

I’ve got two coral lipsticks in my rotation, one that’s more pink and one that’s more orange. If you’re warm-toned like me, these will look amazing on you! I think corals look so nice with green or brown eyes, too.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Shocking Coral: These lipsticks are so pigmented and long wearing, and they don’t dry out my lips!

Wet ‘n Wild MegaLast Lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold (matte): A super cheap way to try this bold orange look. Tip: it’s almost too pigmented, so I suggest tapping it on over a balm to get a feel for the color before diving in, and bring a balm with you for touch-ups later!

Berries

Berry-toned lipsticks aren’t just for fall and winter! There are so many bright and fun purple lipsticks coming out this year, inspired by the color of the year, radiant orchid. Take advantage! Here are my favorites:

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Brazen Berry: This one is a little more sheer than the others I have from the line, so don’t let the tube scare you! It’s super flattering and buildable.

Wet ‘n Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Mauve Outta Here (matte): This is a pretty pink-lavender on the lips, and again, it’s so pigmented that tapping on the first layer really helps.

Warm Pinks

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Hot Pink Rage (matte): This is a hot pink that looks much more muted, so it looks really great with spring pastels! Tip: you’ll want a lip liner with this to make the edges pop because it’s so muted.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Cherry on Top (sheer): This is a deeper hot pink that’s very buildable, so you can get a customized look.

Cool Pinks

I don’t have a ton of cool pink lipsticks, but these two are great.

NYC Expert Last Lipstick in Forever Fuchsia: I just got this from Influenster a couple of weeks ago, and it’s turning into one of my favorite lipsticks! I think I’m going to find some other shades. Anyway, this one is really pigmented and long lasting. Tip: use a liner and bring a balm with you for even more lasting power!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Lollipop (sheer): I love the lip butters, and this is one of the really pigmented ones. The moisture and shine last for hours. I definitely recommend picking this up if you’re unsure about bring colors or want something a bit more versatile.
