Earlier this month was my favorite makeup holiday of the year: Sephora’s annual 20% off VIB sale.
I take this shopping trip very seriously. I went armed with multiple lists and a friend. And when a few things I wanted weren’t in stock, I went online and ordered more the next morning.
However, you’ve probably noticed that this post is going up pretty late, considering how it’s been about three weeks since the sale. I didn’t actually get my package until a week and a half after I placed my order because Sephora was backed up, but they were really great about the delay and gave me 250 points. After that, I went through two attempts to film the haul and had to edit the video on top of finishing my first semester of graduate school!
Before we get to the purchases, I wanted to share that I got a few samples and redeemed a 100 point perk: the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. Woohoo!
Clarisonic brush head replacements
I’m starting with the most boring. I always get brush head replacements for my Clarisonic while I have the discount. Last year they had a 4-pack available, but the best I could find this time was a 2-pack. Still a great deal!
Hand Food (travel size)
My hands are already getting super dry, and it’s only in the 30s! I’ve used a sample of this before and absolutely love the scent. This little guy will be living in my school bag.
Sephora Nail Polish Remover for Glitter
I was converted to these spongey pot-style nail polish removers long ago, so when I saw that Sephora has one made for removing glitter polish, I just had to try it out. You’ll likely be hearing about this from me in a few weeks.
YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in #3 Beige Ultimate
I needed a fourth YSL lipstick. Why? Because I’m insane. But also, now that I really like nude lipsticks, I wanted to reward myself with one from my favorite line. Totally not broken logic. Anyway, this shade is just perfect, and I have been wearing it constantly since I got it.
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade In Soft Brown
This has been on my “want to try” list for a very long time. I was heartbroken when the shade I wanted wasn’t in stock, so this was the first thing I added to my cart to buy online. I broke into this after I’d taken photos for this post, and I am really enjoying it. I still use my brow pencil to make sure I get a clean, straight line across the tops of my brows, but this is great for filling them in and keeping the hairs in place.
Too Faced Melted Kisses: The Ultimate Liquified Long Wear Lipstick Set
This was kind of an impulse buy but also something I had seen online and considered for a while. Everyone raves about these, and I liked the assortment of colors in this set. The set comes with Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia, and Melted Berry. I didn’t think Melted Peony would look any good on me, but once I swatched it I was surprised to see that it is a bit more mauve-toned and opaque than the packaging seems to suggest. LIP SWATCHES?
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
I broke into this powder before I took photos and filmed for this post, because I just had to try it out! I wanted one of these highlighting powders for a long time, but when I went to look at them in the store, all of the other shades seemed way too glittery. I opted for this one, which has more of a satin, glowy finish. However, it doesn’t show up much as a cheek highlight, so I’ve been using it as an all-over setting powder on cold, sun-less days, and it makes my skin look sooo good. The first time I filmed this haul, I forgot to include this product, but I didn’t notice until I was importing the footage and noticed how nice and glowy my skin was… oops!
First Aid Beauty FAB Faves To Go Kit
I’ve been trying to track this down in person for AGES, so I was extremely happy to find it when I was at Sephora. First Aid Beauty is known for being super mild and great for sensitive skin, so I was beyond excited to break into this after filming and taking photos for this post. I’ll be writing a review on this set soon, but spoiler alert: I think I’m already addicted! I am starting to wish I’d gotten the larger set instead of this one.
Glam Glow Gift Sexy Set
And I saved the BEST for last. I was most excited for this gift set. It’s an amazing deal–you essentially get the two smaller masks for free, plus I got the 20% discount. I tried these on my hand in the store as well and COULD NOT WAIT to smear these all over my face. Yep. Rave reviews before I even opened them up! And now I’ve gotten a chance to try each of these once, so expect even more reviews coming up.
That’s it for my haul! If you’d like to see what these products look like (size, packaging, swatches, my failed first set of footage, etc.), then check out my video below. Thanks for reading!
