I’m finally getting settled into my new apartment and I’m getting ready to start my new job on Monday. Exciting stuff! In the meantime, I’ve been going through my makeup for things to review. This post comes in text and video form, so scroll below the video if you’d prefer to skim.
This concealer has quite the name: the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer with collagen and vitamins C and K. Basically, this is the IT Cosmetics concealer that comes in the tube instead of the jar.
This concealer is described by the company as:
An award winning anti-aging, treatment concealer that delivers highly pigmented perfect coverage, anti-aging technology to help treat the appearance of lines, wrinkles and discoloration, conceal dark circles, age spots and redness, conceal facial imperfections without settling into lines and wrinkles; and helps to diffuse the appearance of wrinkles instantly.
I can’t speak much towards the wrinkle claims, but I think it does conceal dark circles well and it doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines. The shade selection, however, is a big minus for me. I have the shade Neutral Medium, which is the second of four shades and a great match for me. The problem with that is, I’m very pale. The darker two shades are definitely for darker complexions, but with only four shades, the jump between the four shades is pretty dramatic. It might be hard to find a match for you, and if you’re between shades, you’ll have to mix and match to find something that suits you.
For this shade, there’s a slightly pinkish/salmon tone to the product, which is good for canceling out dark circles. There’s also a slight luminosity to the product that reflects light and helps brighten up that area (which I think also helps with wrinkle visibility). It’s similar to Benefit’s Erase Paste, both in color and texture, but a bit less pink. Normally I would have a problem with it not being completely flat, but I really do enjoy how subtle it looks on this one, like real skin.
The first thing I noticed about this concealer is that it’s very thick. It can be difficult getting some out of the tube because the nozzle is very small and the product is so creamy. This texture makes it great in terms of pigmentation and coverage, but it makes it difficult to blend. On top of that, the product sets very quickly, so you have to work fast. It was off-putting for me at first, but after a couple tries, I’ve come up with a technique that really works for me, which I talk about in the video.
Overall, I really love this concealer. If you can find a shade that works for you and don’t mind the slight learning curve to know how to use it, then I definitely recommend trying this out. You can find it at Ulta for $24, as well as some sites online. I’m sure QVC has some sort of deal as well, as they usually have IT Cosmetics deals available.
Have you tried this concealer, or any other IT Cosmetics products? Let me know!
