I'M SO GLAD THAT THIS VIDEO + BLOG POST ARE FINALLY SEEING THE LIGHT OF DAY. I've been working on this since February. That's right, February, as in five months ago. Basically, finding dupes takes time, and every time I thought I was done, Sephora kept coming out with more VIB Rouge exclusives! Not to mention all the traveling and the fact that I work full-time. Even at the time I'm posting this, there's been at least one more item added, continually out of stock, and I'm NOT waiting another five months! I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me... I'm sure you understand the dreaded "out of stock" message anyway! VIB Rouge exclusive products are certain shades of popular products that are exclusive to VIB Rouge members. I…

Comparison: Felt Tip Eyeliners

Comparison: Felt Tip Eyeliners

Comparisons, Eyes, Product reviews
I'm a huge fan of felt-tip eyeliners. I feel like I have so much more control with a felt tip than I do with a typical liquid liner brush, making winged liner so much quicker and easier. I have three felt-tip liners that I'm currently using, and I thought it would be helpful to do a review on each and compare them for you. Of course, this is only my personal experience with these products, and others may see different results or have different preferences than I do. https://flic.kr/p/qyWn77 I'll be sharing two drugstore liners and one high-end liner. You'll notice that the high-end liner is a sample size, because I got it in a set a while ago, so it was actually reasonably priced in that sense. Stila Stay…

Review and Demo: Beauty Blender Dupes

Review and Demo: Beauty Blender Dupes

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews, Tools, Videos
Hi, everyone! I have a side-by-side comparison of the beloved Beauty Blender with two drugstore versions: the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge (the orange one) and the Precision Beauty Blending sponge (the purple one, not to be confused with the yellow Sephora Precision Sponge). The Real Techniques sponge is $4.99 at Ulta, and the Precision sponge is $4.99 at Marshall's. These two drugstore sponges are talked about the most, I think, as dupes for the Beauty Blender, so I wanted to put them to the test first. If there are other dupes you've heard about, please let me know so I can do a part two. I know I promised this post and video long ago (this post was drafted back in June...yikes!), but I hated my initial footage and wanted…

Wet 'n Wild Limited Edition Lipsticks (Fall 2014)

Wet 'n Wild Limited Edition Lipsticks (Fall 2014)

Comparisons, Fall, Lips, Product reviews, Seasonal, Videos
Hey, guys! Today I have a video with lip swatches and a review of the ten lipsticks from the Wet 'n Wild Limited Edition Fall and Halloween Collections. I wanted to start with just the lipsticks from both of these collections because I already love the original line of these matte lipsticks, so I knew I'd be able to give a thorough review on any changes to the formula and packaging (spoiler: there are changes to both!). The Fall Collection can be found at any drugstore on a display, probably near the front of the beauty section or on an end cap. There are also some 5-pan eyeshadow palettes and "matte" nail polishes. The lipsticks from this collection are: Sweet Cream - Nude with a hint of pink Sunset Siren…

Blush Dupes?

Blush Dupes?

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hi everyone! I thought I'd give you all a quick post about these blushes. Since spring is coming along we'll soon be turning back to our coral-pink blushes, and every spring you see everyone talking about NARS Orgasm and potential dupes for it. I have a few of the common claimed dupes, so I thought I'd see for myself whether these really do look the same. [caption id="attachment_1400" align="alignnone" width="480"] Top to bottom: NARS Orgasm, NYX Pinched, ELF St. Lucia duo, Milani Luminoso[/caption] NARS Orgasm First, let's look at NARS Orgasm. This blush is sheer, with a coral-pink base and golden shimmer. It's a little difficult to build for me on the cheeks but it's a beautiful color. NYX Blush in Pinched This blush is more pigmented and has a…

Naked 3 Palette – Review and Comparison

Naked 3 Palette – Review and Comparison

Comparisons, Eyes, Palettes and sets, Product reviews
Hey guys, I'm so excited to be writing this post today, because I've been playing with the Naked 3 for a few days now and can't wait to show you some swatches! I ordered it a few weeks ago when Sephora sent out the $20 off $50 VIB coupon, and had it sent it home so it would be waiting for me when I got here. But I didn't want to just do a review of the palette, which you can get just about anywhere these days. I made sure to bring home my Naked palette to compare (I'll be referring to it as "Naked 1," which I know isn't technically correct but it makes things simpler). I don't own the Naked 2, so I can't do full swatches of…

Types of Makeup Removers

Types of Makeup Removers

Comparisons, Product reviews, Skin, Tutorials and Tips
Hey, girls! I'm sure many of you would agree with me when I say that the worst part of makeup is taking it off. There are so many different kinds of products that claim to be the all-in-one miracle that will magically get everything off your face with just one swipe, but the truth is you have to experiment with lots of different brands and combinations until you find something that works for you. I'm going to talk about the different kinds of makeup removers out there and which ones have worked best for me so far. Wipes https://flic.kr/p/qb6eaf Cleansing wipes are super popular because they're easy to use---you just wipe it over your face and your makeup is off. This was the first kind of product I used to…

Garnier BB Creams

Garnier BB Creams

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hello all, I know it's been a few days since I've posted here or on my social media pages, but I've had a bit of a pest problem in my dorm and haven't been staying there most of the week. It should be fixed now, so hopefully I'll get right back to the routine I was just getting settled into. I bought the original formula of Garnier's BB Cream a few weeks ago, but soon realized that there's also a formula for oily and combination skin! I was so confused, because I had only heard that this BB cream is amazing, but had no idea that there were two options. So, I thought it would be a great idea to talk about the differences with both and show you what…

Comparison: Jumbo Eye Pencils

Comparison: Jumbo Eye Pencils

Comparisons, Eyes, Product reviews
Hey, there! I love using jumbo eye pencils as a base to my eye look because they help keep eyeshadow in place and can really make the colors look brighter or add dimension. I also like having that extra layer of security against creasing. Also, these can make great eyeliners on the top or bottom lash lines for a surprising bit of color! Wet 'n Wild Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil - 133 Techno This is a beautiful color, but I mostly just use it as a liner for a nice pop of color. It is very pigmented and lasts quite a while for such a cheap product! I don't know if I would trust it without a primer underneath over the whole lid, though. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil -…

Comparison: Neutral Cream Eyeshadows

Comparisons, Eyes, Product reviews
Hi, Beauties! I'm almost settled into my room at school, and I'm super excited for classes to start tomorrow. Thanks for being patient with me as I transition back into school mode. Your support and kind words have helped make this a very bright start to my senior year! I chose to do a spotlight on neutral cream eyeshadows because they're a staple, and there are so many options. These are absolutely perfect as a base underneath powder shadows (especially during this hot weather) to keep the colors from blending together or creasing. They're also great alone for when you want a long-lasting simple eye look to contrast a bright lip or bold liner. I'll be focusing on the pot kind of cream shadows, but you can get some really…

Comparison: Lip Balms

Comparison: Lip Balms

Comparisons, Lips, Product reviews
https://flic.kr/p/qst9XZ Every girl needs a great lip balm. Or, if you're like me, 5. Some work better as a night treatment, some perfectly prep the lips for lipstick, and others are best for just refreshing the lips throughout the day. I love trying new lip balms, so I thought I'd put a few to the test and let you know which ones you really need in your collection. For each of these lip balms, I tried it on my bare lips, under lip color, over lip color to refresh my lips later in the day, and overnight. In the morning, I exfoliated my lips with each one to determine its effectiveness. Wet ‘n Wild Highlighting Powders

Wet ‘n Wild Highlighting Powders

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hello, lovelies! I've mentioned loving Wet 'n Wild's Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana as a cheekbone highlight, so I was super excited when I found out that they released a highlight powder in their Fergie line! There were two shades, a bronze and a champagne, and I picked up the champagne shade: Rose Champagne Glow. https://flic.kr/p/qszFnW https://flic.kr/p/qbcD8H THIS CALLS FOR A COMPARISON POST! https://flic.kr/p/qbcDg8 Price: $2 for 0.46 oz/13 g, and $6 for .4 oz/11.3 g Packaging: Both have plastic packaging with a lid that clicks shut. However, Reserve Your Cabana has a much flimsier lid, while the Fergie compact is made of a sturdier black plastic (although still not comparable to a high-end compact). https://flic.kr/p/pvUFBB Color and Scent: In the compact, RYC is a very light skin-toned…
