Fall Blushes

Fall Blushes

Face, Fall, Product reviews, Seasonal
Hi, everyone! Since you guys seemed to like my fall lips post, I thought I'd do the same thing for blushes and nail colors, too! So look out tomorrow for the nail colors. Let's get to the blushes... The "goes with everything" neutral https://flic.kr/p/qbcvEM I wrote a post about this Milani blush because I love the color, texture, and packaging of it! A mauve blush is great for fall because they're usually not necessarily warm- or cool-toned, so you can reach for it any morning knowing it will look great. I also love this brownish blush, NYX in Cocoa. It gives the cheeks a little color but can look much more toned down than a bright color. A natural pink https://flic.kr/p/qb6bgj Some might argue that there's no room for pink…

Garnier BB Creams

Garnier BB Creams

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hello all, I know it's been a few days since I've posted here or on my social media pages, but I've had a bit of a pest problem in my dorm and haven't been staying there most of the week. It should be fixed now, so hopefully I'll get right back to the routine I was just getting settled into. I bought the original formula of Garnier's BB Cream a few weeks ago, but soon realized that there's also a formula for oily and combination skin! I was so confused, because I had only heard that this BB cream is amazing, but had no idea that there were two options. So, I thought it would be a great idea to talk about the differences with both and show you what…

Milani "Coming Up Roses" Limited Edition Blush

Milani "Coming Up Roses" Limited Edition Blush

Face, Product reviews
Hi all, I wanted to make sure I show you this blush while it's still available! These limited edition blushes sold out on Milani's website just after these came out, but I was able to find one at my local Walgreens. There are four shades, and I got the one I really wanted, Romantic Rose. https://flic.kr/p/pvDKjh https://flic.kr/p/qqn1n1 You all know from my most recent favorites post that I love Milani's baked blush in Luminoso, so I was really curious to try this out and see if it's just as amazing. Packaging: This blush comes in a thick plastic compact that clicks shut. It feels very sturdy for a drugstore brand. I love that it's clear on top to show off the beautiful rose design, too! Texture and Color: This blush is super…

Wet ‘n Wild Highlighting Powders

Wet ‘n Wild Highlighting Powders

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hello, lovelies! I've mentioned loving Wet 'n Wild's Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana as a cheekbone highlight, so I was super excited when I found out that they released a highlight powder in their Fergie line! There were two shades, a bronze and a champagne, and I picked up the champagne shade: Rose Champagne Glow. https://flic.kr/p/qszFnW https://flic.kr/p/qbcD8H THIS CALLS FOR A COMPARISON POST! https://flic.kr/p/qbcDg8 Price: $2 for 0.46 oz/13 g, and $6 for .4 oz/11.3 g Packaging: Both have plastic packaging with a lid that clicks shut. However, Reserve Your Cabana has a much flimsier lid, while the Fergie compact is made of a sturdier black plastic (although still not comparable to a high-end compact). https://flic.kr/p/pvUFBB Color and Scent: In the compact, RYC is a very light skin-toned…

Benefit Erase Paste

Benefit Erase Paste

Eyes, Face, Product reviews
I finally decided to splurge on a high-end under eye concealer, because I've tried a number of drugstore concealers and haven't been completely satisfied. They either look chalky or let my dark circles show through. Erase Paste is a very thick, salmon-toned brightening concealer. It comes with a small spatula that you use to scoop out a little bit of product, and then you can use your fingers or a brush to spread it out. I've tried both, and I prefer using a brush because it seems to make the coverage more even. This concealer really evens out my skin and reflects light so that my undereye area looks refreshed. And the best part is, you only need a very little bit for all-day coverage. So while the $26 price…

L’Oreal BB Cream

L’Oreal BB Cream

Face, Product reviews
Aaaand we're back with a review! Since I enjoy my Clinique BB cream so much, I was curious to see if I could find a cheaper alternative at the drugstore. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about drugstore BB creams---some people love them, and some people think they're all just tinted moisturizers in different packaging. I decided to try the L'Oreal BB cream after seeing some YouTube reviews of the various drugstore versions, and I liked the look of this one the best. What's weird about it, though, is that it goes on white and adapts to the skin. The packaging is pretty good, just a simple tube. It's small, so it fits in my drawer or any bag if I'm taking it somewhere. My only issue with it…

TheBalm Blushes – Down Boy, Hot Mama

TheBalm Blushes – Down Boy, Hot Mama

Face, Product reviews
TheBalm is not one of the most well-known brands out there, but they really have quality blushes (and super cute packaging)! And the best part is that I got both of these for half the price, I think at about $10 each, from Hautelook. If you don't know what Hautelook is, it's a site that has certain brands go on sale for a few days at a time, and you can get anything from beauty products to clothes to housewares for a huge discount. TheBalm is featured there fairly often, so I don't usually buy anything from them until then, although I'm super curious about their new Instain Blushes (you can check those out here). Down Boy is a cool pink with a little shimmer, but it looks matte on…

L’Oreal Paris Magic Soufflé Foundation

L’Oreal Paris Magic Soufflé Foundation

Face, Product reviews
I found this foundation on sale at Target recently, and I hadn't heard anything about it, so I decided to go for it and see if it was any good. I got shade 516 Nude Beige. It's one of those trendy "whipped" foundations that some bloggers have been loving. I tried applying this with my fingers and with a brush, and both work fine. I think I prefer using a brush, but either way, it's not too difficult to get fairly even coverage with this. It evens my skin tone and covers minor bumps and blemishes pretty well. [caption id="attachment_55" align="alignnone" width="225"] Before blending[/caption] [caption id="attachment_56" align="alignnone" width="225"] Blended[/caption] I only had a couple issues with this foundation. It goes on kind of dry, which is fine for my oily…
