My 4 Favorite Hair Tools and Treatments

Hair, Product reviews
I have color-treated hair, which means that I have to be extra nice to it. I have naturally strong hair, but getting it to the white-blonde that I have now can take its toll even on the healthiest head of hair. There are a few hair tools and treatments I use to keep my hair as healthy and damage-free as possible. They can help you keep your hair healthy, too, whether you color it or not. Heads up - The links in this post are Amazon affiliate links, which means that if you use my link to make a purchase, I get a small commission at no cost to you. Suave Professionals Refresh & Revive Dry Shampoo

Hair, Product reviews
I've taken a bit of a break recently. I'm planning on making a "catch-up" video soon, and I'm getting back on my planning game for more blog posts and videos to come. I'm noticing a sort of cadence in my posting frequency, and I want to try and always stay ahead of the inevitable breaks that need to happen due to my job and personal life. Anyway, I'll leave the rest of that to my next video! Today, I want to share a dry shampoo with you. I have an intense affair with dry shampoos because I always forget to shower at a time that works for my hair. I shower at night, but if I don't leave enough time for my hair to air-dry, I end up with a very itchy and flaky…

Soapbox Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Soapbox Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Hair, Product reviews, Videos
Soapbox just came out with four lines of shampoo and conditioner, and Influenster sent me the products from the coconut oil line to review. I've talked about them before, so feel free to peruse my previous posts about their voxboxes I've received, or take a look at their website. Anyway, this post is about Soapbox! I talk about them a lot in the video, but I'll give you a gist below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdklN7g-JiI For each product you buy, Soapbox gives soap, fresh water, or vitamin supplements to a child in need around the world. You can even see what your purchase provided by entering the unique code on each product on their website. I LOVE that they have that feature! Here are the four hair care lines they have: Acai berry…

Remington Pearl Pro Flat Iron

Remington Pearl Pro Flat Iron

Hair, Product reviews
Hi, everyone! I've got another hair product review for you today... I recently bought my first flat iron: the Remington Pearl Pro Flat Iron. You can purchase it for $29.99 from Remington's website or from Ulta. Since flat irons are typically upwards of $80, I was really excited that this one was getting such great reviews at under half the price, and I snagged the last one at the nearest Ulta. I got this flat iron for both curling and straightening my hair. I have naturally very straight hair, but I wash it at night so I often wake up with my hair going in all directions. My hair also has a hard time holding a curl, so I wanted to try this because I've heard that flat irons make a…

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Hair, Product reviews
Hi, everyone! I've heard people talking about the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque for a long time now, and I finally jumped on the bandwagon and purchased it when I saw it for $10 off at Target. I assume my store was clearing out their stock for spring, or they may no longer be carrying this line. The jar has 8.5 oz of product and sells for around $30, making it a bit of a splurge item. Like I said, I got it for about $20, and it's even a little less from Target's website if you're interested in trying it without shelling out $30. The product is very thick, so a "generous" amount doesn't amount to a very large scoop from the jar, at least on my short to medium length. The label…

The Wet Brush

The Wet Brush

Hair, Product reviews
Hello :) I don't know about you girls, but I hate dealing with wet hair. My hair is really long and I wash it every 2-3 nights, but even though I know I need to brush it through before I go to sleep, I usually don't. My hair tangles like crazy, but when I take the time to brush it while it's wet, I can get rid of the hairs that are shedding, the oils on my scalp are distributed more evenly, and my scalp dries faster so it doesn't get as itchy or flaky. As motivating as that should be, though, no detangling spray or hair brush has ever made this task much easier for me, so I still usually skip taking care of my hair. Enter: The Wet…

Dove Dry Shampoo

Hair, Product reviews
Hello, all! Dry shampoo is absolutely necessary in my beauty arsenal. I wash my hair every 2-4 days, so I need to have something around to refresh my roots on my off days that is quicker than rinsing my hair. I had heard good things about Dove's dry shampoo, and I've been using it for a few months. This is a great dry shampoo if you're looking for something cheap that you can find at any drugstore. This is definitely not something you'd spray in your hair like a hairspray---too much and you'll see the white product. I just part my hair a few times around my head and give a couple short sprays at the roots, rub it all in, and then brush it out. It makes my hair…
