I received my first Voxbox from Influenster recently, and I’m so excited to share my thoughts with you. For those of you who don’t know, Influenster is a website where bloggers and other “influencers” earn badges by reviewing products and connecting their accounts to their social media pages. You can choose to earn expert badges in 5 areas, and that’s how you can qualify to receive free products to test out and review. There are also bonus tasks such as tweeting about the products, making an unboxing video on YouTube, and sharing a photo to Facebook that keep your chances up to get more Voxboxes in the future.
I was so surprised when I got the notification that I’d reached the semi-finals. This voxbox seems a bit more widespread than some of their previous ones, but I was still pleased, considering I’ve only been using Influenster for a couple of months. I filled out my survey, and soon was told that my box was on the way!
I posted a photo of my Voxbox on Instagram when I got it:
Inside was the Colgate Slimsoft Toothbrush, and small samples of Colgate’s Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste and Total Advanced Pro-Shield mouthwash. I haven’t broken into the samples yet, but I’ve been using the toothbrush for a couple weeks now. It retails for $4.99 at most drug stores.
You can probably see that this toothbrush is narrower than other toothbrushes. Other than this being better for people like me with smaller mouths, I really like this shape better than my old toothbrush because I feel like I can really reach around my teeth in the back and clean right up to the gums. The only potential downside is that it can feel like you need to brush longer to make sure you’re reaching everywhere, whereas a larger brush head can get a whole side of a tooth in one go. This isn’t a big deal to me because I feel like this makes me pay closer attention to what I’m doing and clean more thoroughly.
The bristles are very soft and are a little bit tapered at the top. They claim that this lets the bristles go in between teeth as you brush for a deeper clean. I have to agree with that for the most part, although this leads to my one small complaint about this product: the bristles can feel a little bit sharp. This probably has to do with how I brush my teeth, as I think I have a habit of pushing too hard, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking to try this out.
Overall, I think this is a great toothbrush, and even better if you can find it on sale, since it is on the pricey side for a toothbrush (I saw it on sale at Walgreens yesterday, though, so there’s hope for that). I definitely recommend this toothbrush to anyone who’s looking to try something new and wants something really precise. Even if you use an electric toothbrush, it’s always a good idea to keep a manual brush around just in case, or to travel with. This definitely replaced my old toothbrush right away, so we’ll see if I repurchase it in a couple months.
Thanks for reading! I already got notice that there’s another voxbox on the way for me (I know, so soon, right?), so I’ll have more to review very shortly.
DISCLAIMER: I received the products mentioned from Influenster for reveiwing purposes. However, my opinions are always honest and my own.
