I received my third Voxbox from Influenster recently, so now it’s time to share what I got and how I like the products. I was really excited by my box this time because there were more beauty-related products!
The box came with a total of six products and two coupons, along with a little card with a description of the products and a list of the companies’ social media pages with tags to use so I can easily start conversations with these brands. Influenster also has a “cheat sheet” on the voxbox tasks page with this information as well in case you lose the card.
By the way, let me know if you’re interested in an invite to Influenster. I still have all 5 of mine!
Now for the good stuff…
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in 091 Light Ivory
I’m kind of bummed I bought this recently, because now I have another (although it’s one shade off)! This doesn’t go well with dry winter skin, so now that my skin is recovering I’ve been able to try it a couple times and I really like it! I’ll have a full review once my skin recovers from the winter once again and I can use this regularly.
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia
This was the first thing I tried on from my voxbox – I was too curious! I haven’t used much from NYC, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The card says that there are twenty shades and the formula lasts on the lips up to six hours.
The first thing I noticed about this lipstick is the candy-esque smell, similar to the Milani lipsticks. I really like it, and it does linger for a bit, so if you don’t like scented lipsticks you might not like this. The lipstick goes on very pigmented and feels very moisturizing, and my lips were only a little dry at the end of the day with a lot of color still showing.
The only bummer about this lipstick is the packaging. Just like the Wet ‘n Wild Megalast lipsticks I love so much, the lipsticks sticks out above the tube so the lid can get messy. It even came a little dinged up!
Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure in Lovestruck
I haven’t used press-on nails in years, so it was funny to see these in the box! I think the pattern is really cute.
It comes with 24 nail covers in 12 sizes in a container that looks like a nail polish bottle. Brownie points for the packaging.
I was able to find sizes that fit my nails nicely. They were easy to put on, and I was able to trim some of them down with nail clippers and it looked pretty clean. I wore them for a couple days before taking them off myself, so I would say they stay on well. The only problem I had was that I ended up with a small gap between the nail and the nail cover at the tips of my nails, so my hair or lotion would get stuck in there sometimes. But overall they stayed on really well and looked natural.
Pilot Acroball PureWhite Ballpoint Pen
I love pens, so I was so excited to have a new one to try out. This pen looks very clean and has a thin but comfortable grip on it.
Now, I can be very critical of ballpoint pens because I’m left handed. Since I’m pushing the pen across the page instead of pulling, cheap ball points will get jammed or flat-out not work, which can be a downer when I’m taking notes in class and need to keep up. So I guess this makes me a good reviewer for this pen.
I didn’t have any issues with this pen getting stuck, nor did I have trouble getting ink out. I think it takes a little longer to dry than other pens I’ve used, because I ended up with a lot of it on the side of my hand as I wrote, but it didn’t seem to smudge on the paper. I’ll have to see if it keeps working, I guess!
Red Rose REAL TEA Premium Water Enhancer in Black Tea
The description of this product says that it’s a water enhancer with no dyes or coloring, and it’s made from real tea. I’m not much of a tea drinker, so my review on this wouldn’t be very useful. Luckily, my boyfriend really likes tea and agreed to try this out and let me know how it tastes compared to the real deal.
He tried it both hot and cold, and he said it’s much more convenient to make cold tea with than hot tea. The instructions are a bit vague, so he was a little confused by how much “one squirt” should be and how dark it should look when it’s fully saturated. He liked the taste fine, but preferred it cold since this flavor is “lightly sweetened.” I would say if you love tea it’s worth a try, and it’s a quick way to get cold tea especially.
Playtex Sports Fresh Balance Regular Tampons
Surprisingly, I got an entire box of 16 tampons rather than just a few to sample. These tampons are lightly scented with “odor shield” and claim to give 360-degree protection. I’m going to get a little personal here, but I’ve typically stayed away from scented feminine hygiene products because I worry they’ll irritate my skin, and who wants to deal with that? It directly says on the box to stop using them if you experience irritation, so I wonder how common of an issue it is. I like the scent, which I can smell through the box, but I’ll have to wait and see if I’m brave enough to use one.
