You may have noticed my posts and videos slowing down a bit this past month, and that’s due to my feeling ill for probably about half the month overall. But I’ve spent that time in bed planning out my posts for the rest of my time here in Virginia (only two weeks!?!), so hopefully I’ll be back at it in full force this month!
A lot of my favorites are combinations of things, so this looks like a lot of products, but once you group them up it’s not too bad.
Garnier BB Cream Combo
I love the Garnier BB creams, and lately I’ve been loving the two different types (original and oily/combination) mixed together. I wrote a post about these last fall, so check that out for details on the two formulas. They’ve been great together because the oily/combination formula is more pigmented, but the original mixed in makes it thicker and more spreadable.
Clinique BB Cream & Rimmel Stay Matte Combo
I love the lightness of a BB cream, but there were some days when I felt I needed more coverage. I enjoy the Rimmel Stay Matte, but it’s not super easy to spread, and that’s not good for a product where so little goes such a long way. Mixing a dab of it with my BB cream has made for an easy daily foundation that I can apply with just my fingers.
* The Rimmel Stay Matte may have started breaking me out… I’m not sure because it could have easily been my makeup brushes or pillowcase, but I just wanted to put that out there!
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer
I grabbed this recently because I’ve heard so much about it, and I had tried the eraser one that everyone talks about but hated the applicator (it eventually broke). You know I love my MAC Pro Longwear concealer, but it’s not a very easy-to-use product, and when I was sick and sleeping in this month I needed something quick that would help brighten me up for work. You can see how much I used over the month in the second photo above…it’s about half gone! I’ll be doing a full review on this concealer soon, so I’ll save my review for then.
I grabbed this one because it was closest to me, but I have a couple of different ones I’ve been using this month as primer became an absolute necessity for me. My skin has been as temperamental as my health, so I’ve been relying on primer to even out my skin. It’s now a step I cannot skip!
Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer (sample)
This came in the beauty blogger darlings kit, which I reviewed last week. I’ve been using this bronzer to contour every day and it’s awesome! I can’t say it’s a holy grail quite yet, but it is definitely one of my favorites.
Creamy Beige, from the Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather Collection, is a perfect everyday neutral to throw on when you don’t have much time to get ready. But I found myself adding some other products on top of it to add a little extra something so it looks like I spent more time on my makeup than I actually did.
My favorite combinations were:
- Creamy Beige + Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Copper Chic
- Creamy Beige + Seashore Frosts (a limited edition shade from Spring 2013)
- Tough as Taupe + Seashore Frosts
Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle
I’ve said time and time again that this is my holy grail, go-to, “my lips but better” lip color. I rediscovered it after buying and using so many new products, but I always go back to this one. It’s so moisturizing and a beautiful wash of color.
Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry
This is a similar shade to Pink Truffle, but more concentrated and matte. This has been another go-to for work this month! You can read more about these on my post about these matte balms.
And as a bonus, here are a couple of clothing favorites this month:
Merona Gold Chain Cardigan
This was my FAVORITE sweater for the past few months, but it got stolen during my graduation weekend. Luckily, I was able to find someone selling it on eBay, and it’s finally back in my life. This is one of my favorite clothing items ever. I love the gold chain detail. It adds such a nice touch to my outfits. Would it be crazy to search eBay for more of these and buy them all so I always have backups?
Mossimo Maxi Skirt
You may remember this from my Target Haul last month. This is the easiest and most comfortable skirt to throw on and still look polished. I’m considering getting it in grey while it’s still available online (and it’s on sale!).
I’ve been thinking about doing more fashion and styling posts, so let me know in the comments if you’d be interested in seeing that!
That’s it for my July favorites. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you all had a great month.
