I’ve realized lately that I have a lot of products I haven’t used in a while, so to make sure I’m getting the most out of my stash, I’m pulling a few products out this month and using them throughout the month. I’m not going to restrict myself to just these products, especially because I’ll be going home in a couple of weeks, but this will help me use up what I already own and hopefully rediscover some amazing products!
Let’s unpack it…
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation in Natural Ivory (20): I got this foundation about a year ago after I heard about it on YouTube, but found that it gave me dry patches around my nose and chin. I definitely want to try this again now that I’ve been better about exfoliating and moisturizing!
Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette in Hidden Agenda (07): I also got this about a year ago, right when I started getting into wearing makeup. I really liked that this is customizable, but I stopped using it as I bought other concealers. My dark circles are really hard to cover, so I like that this has two shades to mix; the greenish one is great for my redness, too. I didn’t like the powder when I first tried it, but I bet I just didn’t know how to use it.
MAC Bronzer in Nude on Board: You might remember this from last summer. I made a good dent in this before switching up my bronzers once I was back with all of my makeup at school, and now I want to go back to it. I really liked this and found it to be long-wearing, so I hope it’s still as good as I remember!
Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in Rosy Blush (03): I got this little sample in one of Clinique’s free gift offers, and it’s mostly hung around my makeup drawer. Cream blush has always been a challenge for me, but this is such a beautiful color that I want to try again. It would look great under my Milani Coming Up Roses blush that I love so much, so maybe these will get me away from my new Tarte palette (I’ll be getting enough of it at home, as I’m not bringing any other blushes and bronzers with me).
Wet ‘n Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette: You might remember seeing this in my highlight comparison post from a while back. I’m honestly a little scared of how shimmery it is, but at the same time, I think it will give me a really nice glow during this cold weather. I mean, look how beautiful it looks in a photo!
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Light: I bought this little guy when ELF had their half off sale recently, but I have been so in love with my Anastasia Brow Whiz + Urban Decay Brow Box combo that I completely forgot about it. I’m hoping I’ll be happy using just this product, and won’t want to go in with a pencil to straighten the lines a bit.
Ulta Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold: I got this in my Ulta haul a while back for an awesome deal, but I got so much in that haul that I didn’t dedicate enough time with each of those products. I remember liking this cream shadow the best of the three I purchased, so I’m pulling it out again.
theBalm Nude ‘tude Palette: I got this from Hautelook last August, but looking at how long I’ve had it versus how much I’ve used it, I realized this palette needs some love! I’ve used it a few times and really like it, but I haven’t tried out all the shades, and I know there’s so much more I can do with this palette. I don’t know if I’ve even swatched it…
Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara: I got this mascara in a giveaway recently and have yet to open it! I really need to toss out the mascaras I’ve been using over and over for an embarrassingly long time (still holding onto my They’re Real, Diorshow, and Covergirl mascaras), so I thought opening up this new one would make me finally put the old ones in the trash. Let’s just hope I like this one! I think the whole “upper lash” and “lower lash” thing is kind of gimmicky, but I’ll get past that if the two different brushes really seem to make a difference or if the formula is good.
Thanks for reading! Do you think you’ll try the “basket method” for using up products you’ve forgotten about? What’s in your basket?
