Very exciting video and post here. I haven’t gone shopping in a long time, so I was really excited to go out and get a few (or a lot) of things!
I go through what I got in this video. Keep scrolling for photos and swatches of all the products! If you see something you’d like a review for (whether video, blog post, or both), let me know in the comments. I always prioritize requests over whatever I have planned, so don’t be shy 🙂
I had so much fun filming this haul, and I really hope you enjoyed watching it! Now, let’s take a closer look at everything I got.
Just an FYI before we jump into all these photos: I tried my darndest to get the colors to look right in these, but I think the lighting and white table made some of the products come off darker than they look in real life. Check the video for the most accurate look at the packaging and colors for these products.
Sephora Favorties: Give Me Some Lip & Liner
Don’t you love the Sephora Favorites sets? You get to try so many things without doing too much damage on your wallet! I was drawn to this set because I have a deep love for lipstick (surprised? ha!) and this set has a great variety of colors and formulas.
For the lip liners, three out of four are full-sized! In this set are:
- Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Mood Ring – a deep berry
- Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in Crimson (full-size) – a classic red
- Know Cosmetics No Bleeding Lips Secret Lip Liner (full-size) – a transparent liner to prevent color bleeding
- Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Naked – a pinkish nude
There are three nude/pink products:
- Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Sellout – a dusty nude
- Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi Shine Lip Lacquer in Pretty Thing – a sheer pinkish nude gloss
- YSL Rouge Pur Couture in No. 70 Le Nu – a neutral pink
There are four bright reddish shades in this set:
- Benefit They’re Real! Double the Lip in Fuchsia Fever – a bright hot pink
- Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge M-401 Mat – a bright pinkish-red
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso – a bright warm red
- NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella – a slightly deeper, cool-toned red
And finally, there are three dark products:
- Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Kir Royale – a berry gloss (despite the name, this is a sheer gloss)
- Ciate Liquid Velvet in Voodoo – a deep blackberry
- Estee Edit Lip Flip Shade Transforcer in 02 Turn Down – a sheer black that’s meant to be layered over another color to darken it
Let’s look at some swatches! The lip liners (minus the transparent one) are on the left, then I’ve broken the other swatches by shade family.
From left to right: Laura Mercier liner, Smashbox liner, Tarte liner, YSL lipstick, Too Faced lipstick, Marc Jacobs lip gloss, Benefit lipstick, NARS lip pencil, MUFE lipstick, Stila lipstick, Buxom lip gloss, Ciate lipstick, Estee Edit lip flip
Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic
NOW. This is what I call an awesome holiday set! I’ve always been curious about these Peter Thomas Roth masks, but I haven’t wanted to shell out for a full size. You don’t see a lot of companies putting out sets with so many products and at such a deluxe size (1.7oz/50ml). This set also contains the “signature mask applicator,” which I hadn’t heard of but sounds like a fantastic addition. It’s made of rubber and feels durable — even when the masks are gone, you can hold onto this applicator for a long time!
This set is not cheap ($75), but it would make a fantastic gift for a skincare lover. Or, these pots are large enough so that you can break up this set and gift the masks separately (but you’d have to pick your favorite person to get the applicator).
The set contains:
- Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme Detoxifying Hydrator
- 24k Gold Mask Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Mask
- Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask
- Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask
- Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer
Yes, those names are literally word-for-word from the packaging. As I typed them out, I found myself cringing at all the “buzz words” they threw in to make these sound fancy and scientific. I absolutely hate when brands choose to do that… But, I’m looking past that and I’m excited to try these out. It will take a while to give each one a good try, but expect to hear from me on these! I’m sure you’re waiting on the edge of your seat to see the “extreme” “intense” “luxury” “algae” “enzyme” “dermal” “detoxifying” “resurfacer” power! *eye roll*
Kat Von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set
I’m so psyched for these. I love Kat Von D liquid lipsticks, and I don’t even own any of these shades already! Yes, this is something I celebrate after 4.5 years of blogging and 2.5 years of videos.
This set contains:
- Plath (New) – deep russet red
- Santa Sangre – poison apple
- Mother – dusty mauve pink
- Lovesick – mauve nude
- Backstage Bambi – vivid hot pink
- L.U.V. – rich violet
- Roxy (New) – bright grape
- Echo – satin navy blue
I’m so excited to try all these on. I’m planning on doing a video review on these fairly soon. Also… I bought an extra set as part of an upcoming giveaway. SO GET EXCITED!!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita
I have the Dolce Vita blush, nail polish, lipstick, and lip gloss. But the lipstick is sheer and I don’t love lip gloss, so I wanted to see if this formula would give me a saturated version of this beautiful color.
After swatching it, I’m not sure if it’s as pigmented as I was hoping. I was expecting Cruella-level color here, and I don’t think this is it. But I haven’t put it on my lips yet, so there’s still a sliver of hope left in me.
Sephora Color Switch by Vera Mona
I like to get lazy with my everyday routine and use 2-3 brushes for my eyeshadow and liner, yet I still like to use 4+ shades of eyeshadow. This hard sponge supposedly lets you get all the powder out of your brush between colors, so you can switch eyeshadows without getting some leftovers from the previous colors you’ve used. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this, but I’m hoping I love it and my laziness can prevail!
BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Splits in Prosecco Pop and Amaretto
I love BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter, so I was really excited to hear there was more of this collaboration coming! There are four of these blush/highlight duos, two with Champagne Pop and two with the new Prosecco Pop. Of course, I grabbed one with Prosecco Pop, and I went for the neutral blush instead of the brighter option.
These swatches, THO. The blush looks so pretty, and the highlight is just as bright and shiny as Champagne Pop, but more gold-toned.
Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette
I’ve been curious about this mega-Naked Basics palette. Plus the packaging is just killer. Even if I don’t get much use from this palette (but I think I will), I can just display the packaging and never regret it.
I love that you still get your very basic neutral shades, but with a couple twists thrown in. However, in my swatches, the second and third shades didn’t really show up at all. I suppose these will be fine to sweep across my entire lid, but it is kind of a bummer to have two shades that are basically the same. Otherwise, the rest of these seem to be up to par with what you’d expect from Urban Decay. Just LOOK at that deep orange.
Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette
As I explained in my video, I was looking for an all-in-one travel palette and got too picky, then I ended up getting this. But man, am I glad I did. I was on the fence because this palette is so bright and pink, but swatching these shadows made my heart flutter. They’re all so pigmented and beautiful. I can’t wait to do some fun looks with this.
Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in On Point (VIB Rouge Exclusive)
This was the lone VIB Rouge Exclusive I couldn’t get in time for my VIB Rouge Exclusive dupes post and video. It had been in my cart ever since, and so I decided to go for it when I was shopping online for the second round of the sale. But from the photos online, I was expecting it to be more of a deep red than a berry.
Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Trust Issues
I’ve been wanting to try these liquid lipsticks, because I’ve heard a lot of reviews that rave about these, and a lot of reviews saying they’re super drying. I went with a deep berry-mauve shade for fall.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in 2.5 Creme Brulee
I got a sample of Light 2 Vanilla and really enjoy it, so I wanted to get a full size while I had the discount. But, I saw that NARS added a couple in-between shades to their line, so I picked up Light 2.5 Creme Brulee. You can really see the difference between the two in my video.
You might be able to see the color difference here. At least, you’ll be able to see the size difference!
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
I’ve been using this gel liner in Caviar Ink for a few years (since before I started my blog!). It was finally time to grab the black one. I want to compare it to my Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner, which I’ve been using as a black gel liner for a while.
NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Pygar
I don’t know how I feel about the Dual-Intensity eyeshadows from NARS — I’m still making use of their palette, hoping that they’ll get to the texture they were in the store sample when I got it.
But I walked past the Hardwired eyeshadows. And I nearly wept. There are five or six shades, and they are all shiny as hell. I swatched nearly all of them on my hand and agonized over which one to try. I found that this lightest shade was just so shiny and unique that I had to get it. It’s a sort of champagne-gold with almost greenish tones. It makes no sense in writing, but it makes so much sense to my eyeballs.
Can we just look at it again?
The only thing with these shadows is that they’re teeny tiny. Look at it compared to a standard NARS blush:
The cutest lil bb. I think this will be great to throw into a makeup bag to make sure I always have something super shiny while I’m traveling. It seriously catches the light more than most eyeshadows I’ve ever seen. Let’s hope it wears well!
Skincare: FAB Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer, FAB Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum, Origins Eye Doctor Eye Cream, Korres Nourishing Hand Cream
Finally, I grabbed some skincare products. I needed a replacement face moisturizer for daytime, and I love this one from First Aid Beauty. I also picked up the hydrating serum because I’m hoping it will replace the one I just ran out of that I have to buy through Amazon.
I needed a hand cream for my desk, because I’ve been getting a lot of hangnails and dry patches on my hands recently. I have a L’Occitane sample, but the perfume scent is just way too strong, and I don’t want to be apologizing to my coworkers all day.
Finally, I needed a new eye cream, and I wanted one that isn’t $90. Is that so much to ask? I grabbed this Origins eye cream because it didn’t have a strong scent and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. Do you know of any better eye creams that don’t cost a full paycheck? Please let me know!
THAT’S IT! This is likely the biggest haul I’ve ever had on my blog. I hope you enjoyed watching and reading.
What were your favorite purchases from the sale this year? Anything you wish you could try?
And again, please let me know what reviews you’d like to see first. I appreciate the help with prioritization!
