Soapbox Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Soapbox just came out with four lines of shampoo and conditioner, and Influenster sent me the products from the coconut oil line to review. I’ve talked about them before, so feel free to peruse my previous posts about their voxboxes I’ve received, or take a look at their website.

Anyway, this post is about Soapbox! I talk about them a lot in the video, but I’ll give you a gist below.

For each product you buy, Soapbox gives soap, fresh water, or vitamin supplements to a child in need around the world. You can even see what your purchase provided by entering the unique code on each product on their website. I LOVE that they have that feature!

Here are the four hair care lines they have:

Acai berry oil (smooth & nourish)

Argan oil (hydrate & heal)

Bataua fruit oil (repair & renew)

Coconut oil (moisturize & replenish)

As for the shampoo and conditioner itself, I’m impressed. The coconut oil line smells AMAZING and the scent lasts even to the second day after washing. It’s not overwhelming by any means, it’s just still there a lot longer than most other products I’ve used. It’s pretty impressive. The products also feel very moisturizing, but that means it can weigh your hair down if you’re not careful about the amount you use or rinsing your hair and scalp thoroughly.

Something to look out for in these is that they’re sulfate free, so the shampoo won’t lather up like “regular” shampoos. The conditioner also has a more whipped and uneven consistency than “regular” conditioners. It’s not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind if you’re not used to the au-natural textures of products like this! Once you adapt, you get the benefits of using products that don’t strip your hair and scalp of its natural (necessary) oils. If you miss that squeaky clean feeling, you can always wash with a “regular” shampoo or a clarifying shampoo to get rid of any extra buildup.

These are a great natural option for your hair. Plus, they’re super affordable and do a little good in the world! I’m definitely a fan of this company, and I may be trying some of their soaps in the future.

Soapbox hair products are available exclusively at Target and retail for $4.99 each. Also at Target, you’ll find a couple of their liquid hand soaps and a travel kit of their argan oil line (shampoo/conditioner, body wash, and body lotion). Their bar soaps and more liquid soap scents are available on their website, which has a 20% off coupon for joining their mail list and a 10% subscribe and save program.

* This is not a sponsored post. I was sent these products from Influenster to review, and the opinions expressed in this post and video are completely my own.
