2017 Favorites (Cruelty-Free)

What a year. I’m going to post my 2017 reflection and 2018 goals separately, but I’ll say right now that this year has been both challenging and rewarding in so many ways. I’m also happy to be spending my last night of 2017 at home making videos and writing instead of out partying. Woohoo! This year was an interesting year for me with makeup and skincare. I barely bought any makeup, instead doing one big purge in the middle of the year and another over the next couple days. I learned a lot about skincare and got quite a few products to try, but even then, I didn’t get all that much. This is the first year since I started to wear makeup that I spent so little. I feel…

June Favorites

June Favorites

Videos
Hi, everyone! I'm so excited to share my favorites with you this month! I don't know why, but I've been looking forward to writing this post. I think June just felt long to me. I also have quite a few new products to share with you! IT Cosmetics Bye, Bye Redness This was definitely my favorite of the favorites this month! It's a "redness neutralizing cream" that can act as a foundation or as a base to your foundation. I want to do a review of this product soon, so please let me know in the comments if you'd be interested in that (and if you'd like a demo as well)! L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Oil-Free I've been using this primer underneath my makeup most of the…

March Favorites

March Favorites

Favorites, Product reviews
Hi everyone, March was a good month for me, mainly because it's actually starting to warm up here! I only have a few favorites this month. I kept it simple the past few weeks. I can't wait to see what you guys were loving this month, too! Garnier BB Creams - original and oily/combination skin formula I've been using these BB creams a lot this month for lighter coverage during those days I'm just going to class and back. I like both mixing them together and wearing them alone. I almost feel like I'm getting my normal skin back - the harsh winter made my skin so dry and flaky! Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara I've used this mascara a ton this month, and I think it will run out fairly…

ELF Studio Haul + First Impressions

ELF Studio Haul + First Impressions

Beauty hauls, First impressions, Product reviews
Hi everyone, ELF had a 50% off deal for their Studio line, so even after all that birthday shopping I did last month, I decided to take advantage! Makeup Lock and Seal I haven't heard much about this product, but it was kind of a "what the heck" addition to my cart as I checked out. This is a clear solution to use with pigments or powder eyeshadows to intensify the color and make it last longer, so I'll definitely be using this soon to see if it does those things. Lip Liner and Blending Brush in Fuchsia I've been looking for a bright pink lip liner to go with some of my brighter lipsticks for spring and summer, so I decided to try this one. The brush came a…

Blush Dupes?

Blush Dupes?

Comparisons, Face, Product reviews
Hi everyone! I thought I'd give you all a quick post about these blushes. Since spring is coming along we'll soon be turning back to our coral-pink blushes, and every spring you see everyone talking about NARS Orgasm and potential dupes for it. I have a few of the common claimed dupes, so I thought I'd see for myself whether these really do look the same. [caption id="attachment_1400" align="alignnone" width="480"] Top to bottom: NARS Orgasm, NYX Pinched, ELF St. Lucia duo, Milani Luminoso[/caption] NARS Orgasm First, let's look at NARS Orgasm. This blush is sheer, with a coral-pink base and golden shimmer. It's a little difficult to build for me on the cheeks but it's a beautiful color. NYX Blush in Pinched This blush is more pigmented and has a…

May Favorites

May Favorites

Happy first day of June, everyone! May was a crazy month for me. I finished up my junior year of college, ended my job as an RA, moved out of my dorm (I've done this three times, but it seems like a huge feat each time), and got myself across the country to live at home for a summer internship. It was difficult to remember which products I was using the most this month because everything was changing so much, and I left a lot of my makeup behind for the summer. But, it didn't take long for me to pull a few favorites aside. Face Makeup Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder - 010 Fair This has become my go-to setting powder each morning. It sets my makeup and lessens…
