Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings Review

Hi all,

I wanted to get a review up for this because I’m not sure how long it will be in stores! I’ve also been using all three of these products since I got the set, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Shadow Insurance

I’ll talk about this product first, as I already had a full-sized tube and have been using this for quite a while now. Mine needed some shaking/mixing after I bought it, because a watery clear substance was coming out before the actual product. But once I got through that phase, this tube has lasted me a long, long time.

This eyelid primer definitely makes my eyeshadow last longer, and it’s nice and light so it has a very natural look and feel on the lid. I also like to use it under my eyes before concealer for a more even application. However, it’s not very pigmented, so it doesn’t cove up any discoloration or veins, nor does it do a lot to brighten the eyeshadow(s) you put on top of it. If all you’re looking for is to extend the wear of your eyeshadow and prevent creasing, then this is great. If you want something with more coverage or brightening abilities, you might not like this.

Primed & Poreless

I’ve only recently begun to wear primers, and already I’m surprised it’s taken me so long. I have very uneven skin, lots of small bumps and the like, so a primer has been a necessary step for me lately to improve the coverage and wear of my foundations and BB creams.

This face primer has no coverage, and tapped into the skin gives a nice silky feeling to the face. I’ve noticed that even my BB creams are lasting well over this primer, although I’ve still needed touch-ups in my t-zone, where I tend to get oily. It doesn’t completely erase the appearance of pores (honestly, what can?), but I do think that after I apply the primer and foundation, my pores look smaller than when I use foundation alone. The big benefit of this product for me is evening out my skin’s texture, so that my foundation goes on smoother and doesn’t clump around larger blemishes or anything.

Better Than Sex Mascara

This mascara is absolutely loved and raved about on YouTube, and I did like it, but I’ve been having some issues with it. The two main problems have to do with the brush, which is massive and curved:

It’s so large that it’s nearly impossible to use this mascara without accidentally hitting another part of the face. The size also makes it difficult to target smaller lashes or lashes in the corners of the eye. The curve is cute in theory, going along with the sexy “hourglass” theme, but the narrowest part doesn’t catch any lashes, so you’re left with a gap when you apply the product to your lashes. This made it really hard to coat each lash, and caused clumps in certain areas that were getting hit with the ends of the brush.

Overall, I like the formula and have seen some good results with this mascara, but at least for right now this brush is just too hard to use for it to be worth the price for a full size!

Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

I’m saving the best for last. I was skeptical about this bronzer when I first got it, as seen in my reaction while filming the Ulta haul video:

So while it doesn’t make a super pigmented swatch, it works wonders on the face. With just one tap of a fluffy brush, this product contours amazingly–I only need to apply product once or twice in the same spot and I can move on. I’ve been contouring my cheekbones, temples, and the sides of my nose every single day with this since I got it! And it smells like chocolate, so it’s hard to go wrong with that.

Product Breakdown:

Primed & Poreless, .17 oz/5g (full size is X amount for $30)

Shadow Insurance, .17 oz/5g amount (full size is .35 oz/11g for $20)

Better than Sex Mascara, .17 oz/4.8g (full size is .27 oz/7.65g for $23)

Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, .14 oz/4g amount (full size is .35 oz/10g for $30)

This is a great deal: $103 for all four full-sized products, and $20 for all four travel sizes (which have about half the amount of product as the full-sized, but are less than a quarter of the price!)

This set is sold at Sephora and Ulta, and make sure to try online if you don’t find it in the store.

Thank you so much for reading! Have you tried any of these products? Think you’ll go for this set while it’s out?
