The Best Compact LED Gel Nail Dryer

The Best Compact LED Gel Nail Dryer

Beauty steals, Nails, Product reviews, Videos
When I was interested in trying gel nail polish, I went on a hunt to find the best LED gel nail dryer and gel nail polish to get started. I'm happy to report that I found both. This nail dryer checked all my boxes and has been an incredible addition to my beauty routine. I can have my nails painted and ready to go in about 25 minutes (or less, when my nails are short and I can be less careful). Image of the nail dryer from Pinterest. Spring 2019 Causebox Unboxing

Beauty hauls, First impressions, Seasonal, Spring, Videos
I'm a bit late on this post and video, so let's not waste any more time ;) This season's Causebox is strong in skincare but still has enough variety to stay interesting. I was able to choose the color or style for the clutch, bracelet, and silky scarf. Check out my first impressions as I go through the box. More info about each item is below. https://youtu.be/RwKHr3owkug The Megan Portfolio Clutch - Glass Ladder & Co. This clutch is large enough to hold a tablet and has a bunch of inner pockets and slots to hold anything you'd need. It's intended to be a business-casual bag, but I could easily see myself using this when I'm going out with friends. The bag is made of vegan leather. I was thrilled…

Winter Causebox Unboxing

Winter Causebox Unboxing

First impressions, Product reviews, Seasonal, Style, Style hauls, Videos, Winter
Back in December, I received my winter 2018 Causebox right before I was set to leave town for the holidays. I was sick, but I decided to film something anyway and give myself a little editing work to do on my trip. As you can probably guess by today's date, I didn't edit on my trip. But I did get to come back to some hilarious DayQuil-induced footage. And an appearance from my pup Maya! https://youtu.be/u8WaAXMCSe0 Now that I've had these items for a while, I thought I'd give a little update for you here. The Poncho I said in the video that I likely wouldn't wear the poncho outside because "I'm scared," but it's really cute! It's not super practical as it's so open, but it's cute layered over…

Karity Liquid Lipsticks: Try-On and Review

Karity Liquid Lipsticks: Try-On and Review

Lips, Product reviews, Videos
It's been too long since I've posted a review! Today, I'll be sharing a liquid lipstick set from Karity that I've been loving since I got it back in May.  About Karity Karity is 100% cruelty-free and many of their products are vegan and clearly marked as such on their website. They also donate a meal to an animal in need (via the SPCA) for every palette purchased. They donate to other organizations, too, which they discuss on their website. Once I do a palette cleanout, I'll definitely be checking out their eyeshadow palettes, because I'd love to help them make some animals happy. A key feature about the brand is that they keep their price point low, like drugstore-level low. The price for these lipsticks is incredible—only $6 per…

Fall Causebox Unboxing

Beauty hauls, Fall, First impressions, Product reviews, Seasonal, Style, Style hauls, Videos
As soon as I filmed and edited my Causebox in my Ads Made Me Buy It video, my fall Causebox arrived!  Let's take a look at what's inside. https://youtu.be/hwUsCZUHM78 So far, I've been consistently impressed by the value and variety in these boxes. I've never been interested in subscription boxes, but this one provides useful items that give back.  I know I keep saying this in my videos, too, but the items in these boxes are so nice that any items you don't want would make a great gift for someone else. Everything is full size and good quality. I'm already looking forward to my winter box. If you want to see it, comment below or like the video to let me know!

Project Pan: THE RESULTS!!

Project Pan: THE RESULTS!!

Empties and purges, Product reviews, Videos
I'm finally back to report my results of the project pan I started back in March. Are you ready to see how it went? https://youtu.be/TnGZM2WeYh0 The Results Not many of these products had a very dramatic change, but I've learned in this process that it's really all about the details. I myself didn't even see some of the changes until I had the images side-by-side in my video editor. IT Cosmetics Celebration Illumination Foundation in Light - I started with quite a bit of pan showing, and now it's pretty significant. I was expecting more progress on this one, but partway through I figured out that this powder breaks me out! Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso - This blush is domed, so it's super hard to see, but I've been…

My 4 Favorite Hair Tools and Treatments

My 4 Favorite Hair Tools and Treatments

Hair, Product reviews
I have color-treated hair, which means that I have to be extra nice to it. I have naturally strong hair, but getting it to the white-blonde that I have now can take its toll even on the healthiest head of hair. There are a few hair tools and treatments I use to keep my hair as healthy and damage-free as possible. They can help you keep your hair healthy, too, whether you color it or not. Heads up - The links in this post are Amazon affiliate links, which means that if you use my link to make a purchase, I get a small commission at no cost to you. Hanacure All-in-One Facial

Hanacure All-in-One Facial

First impressions, Product reviews, Skin
I'm jumping back into this blog with an interesting review. (By the way, I just posted a quick lil video about my absence on my channel, so check it out if you haven't seen it already.) If you haven't heard of the Hanacure All-in-One Facial, it's a face mask that's often dubbed the "zombie mask," because it pulls on your face until you basically look dead. The before and after photos are a good time, if you're interested. This mask is marketed as an anti-aging multitasking product. It's meant to lift, tighten, brighten, and diminish wrinkles and pores. I took a look at the ingredients and saw that there are a lot of extracts and a handful of other ingredients like caffeine and niacinamide. (Side note: be careful using this…

Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette

Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette

Eyes, Face, Lips, Palettes and sets, Product reviews
Today I’m going to finally share my thoughts about the Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic palette. I’ve had this palette around for a long time and realized I never posted a review! The details $32 from Sephora’s website Cruelty-free and vegan 4 x 0.05 oz/ 1.53 g Holographic Shades in Emerald (green), Saphyre (blue), Amethyst (ultra-violet), Opal (pink) Packaging This palette has some of the coolest packaging of any palette in my collection. It’s a white and iridescent triangle with an embossed A design. It’s cardboard but feels reinforced because of the plastic coating. It has a magnetic closure that really stays shut. Inside, it has a mirror and a smooth matte covering around the pans. It feels similar to something like NARS or ELF packaging but doesn’t pick up…

Kevyn Aucoin Electropop Pro Eyeshadow Palette

Kevyn Aucoin Electropop Pro Eyeshadow Palette

Eyes, Palettes and sets, Product reviews
The Electropop palette from Kevyn Aucoin caught my eye when I was shopping at Sephora last month. The color selection is just gorgeous. I’ve been using it a lot lately, so let’s dive in. The Details Retails for $57 at Sephora 12 pans at 1.5g/0.05 oz each Cruelty-free but not vegan (carmine is an ingredient) Limited edition, apparently… It was released for holiday 2017 but is still around There are two product claims I could find for this palette, both on the box the palette came in (the same descriptions are on Sephora's site with slight variations). First, about the palette: Dramat-eyes like a pro to create endless 3D chromatic eye looks and editorial effects - from a light, sheer shimmer to a high, metallic opaque finish. These electro chrome…
