January Favorites

Happy February, everyone! I love February… maybe because it’s my birthday month or maybe because the weather might start to get a little warmer, but I’m always super excited when it’s here.

I didn’t wear as much makeup this past month because it was so cold. My skin was going crazy and needed lots of moisturizer and a break from everything else.

Anyway, onto the favorites.

Maybelline Define-A-Brow

2014-01-30 21.25.22

I left my Anastasia Brow Wiz at home, so I had to find a new brow pencil to hold me over until I can get the other one back. I looked up some different ones and came across some good reviews for this one. It’s just as easy to use as the Brow Wiz, and it lasts all day. I got the lightest shade, for dark blondes, and it’s a really good match for me. If I want to darken it up I use my ELF brow kit over it.

Stila Kitten

I’m so excited I tried the powder version of Kitten! This shadow is so beautiful and goes with everything. It’s been perfect for those mornings when I’ve been in a hurry.

Benefit Erase Paste

2014-01-30 21.24.27

I picked this up again after a long break, and I like it even better than I did before. This covers really well and hides my dark circles in most lighting. I haven’t had a lot of trouble with creasing during the day, and it doesn’t seem to be too shiny when I apply it thinly.

Stila Prime Pot

2014-01-30 21.25.05

I’ve been using this eyeshadow base all month, even on days when I didn’t want to wear eyeshadow. It keeps my lids from looking oily and makes a smooth base for eyeshadow. Plus, I was able to get it on sale, so that’s always nice.

Hot Mama and Romantic Rose

2014-01-30 21.25.32

2014-01-30 21.23.48

I pulled these blushes out for my January Basket this month, and I got a lot of use from both of them. Hot Mama is beautiful and works as a highlight as well as a blush, and Romantic Rose is a perfect neutral pink.

Lip duo: nudes

2014-01-30 21.26.06

I’ve never liked nude lip colors on me, but this combination has been my favorite this month. Tarte Matte Lipsurgence in Exposed is a nude pink, and it makes an even pigmented base underneath my Maybelline Color Whisper in Mocha Muse.

Laura Geller Balance ‘n Brighten in Medium

2014-01-30 21.24.01

Since I stayed away from liquid foundations most of the month, this powder foundation has come in handy. I like using this both alone and over other makeup for a more even tone.

That’s it for my favorites this month! I can’t wait to see what some of you have been loving as well.
