My 4 Favorite Hair Tools and Treatments

My 4 Favorite Hair Tools and Treatments

Hair, Product reviews
I have color-treated hair, which means that I have to be extra nice to it. I have naturally strong hair, but getting it to the white-blonde that I have now can take its toll even on the healthiest head of hair. There are a few hair tools and treatments I use to keep my hair as healthy and damage-free as possible. They can help you keep your hair healthy, too, whether you color it or not. Heads up - The links in this post are Amazon affiliate links, which means that if you use my link to make a purchase, I get a small commission at no cost to you. Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette

Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette

Eyes, Face, Lips, Palettes and sets, Product reviews
Today I’m going to finally share my thoughts about the Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic palette. I’ve had this palette around for a long time and realized I never posted a review! The details $32 from Sephora’s website Cruelty-free and vegan 4 x 0.05 oz/ 1.53 g Holographic Shades in Emerald (green), Saphyre (blue), Amethyst (ultra-violet), Opal (pink) Packaging This palette has some of the coolest packaging of any palette in my collection. It’s a white and iridescent triangle with an embossed A design. It’s cardboard but feels reinforced because of the plastic coating. It has a magnetic closure that really stays shut. Inside, it has a mirror and a smooth matte covering around the pans. It feels similar to something like NARS or ELF packaging but doesn’t pick up…

Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette

Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette

Eyes, Fall, Palettes and sets, Product reviews, Seasonal, Summer
I'm finally coming at you with another review, this time for the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions palette. There are four different Obsessions palettes, but this one stood out to me because it has a great variety of colors and is closest to what I normally like to wear. The Details Retails for $27 at Sephora and Huda Beauty's website 9 x 1.3g (0.05 oz) eyeshadows Cruelty-free (and after some digging, I found that the company responded to someone's comment on their website about the Obsession palettes being vegan, but take that as you wish) Here's what Huda Beauty says about this line of mini palettes: A range of compact eyeshadow palettes, expertly curated by Huda herself, offering beauty lovers a complete day-to-night eye color wardrobe. Each Huda Beauty Obsessions…

Trying New Clarisonic Brush Heads

First impressions, Product reviews, Skin, Tools, Videos
Happy Sunday! I found this footage on my computer and realized I never finished editing and posting this video. I filmed a first impression of the newest Clarisonic brush heads: the Uplift Firming Massage Head and the Sonic Foundation Brush Head, Uplift Firming Massage Head This massage head is meant to massage your face, neck, and chest. I've seen some reviews mention using this to apply serums. It's $54 alone or now comes with the Clarisonic Smart Profile (which may have been renamed??). It can only be used with the Smart Profile model. My first impression: It simply vibrates. I thought it would rotate or something, but it doesn't. It's difficult to use this on your face except for large areas like the jawline and forehead. It's pretty expensive, especially…

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness

Face, Product reviews
Hi! I've been using this product for some time now, but I finally got around to posting a review. I've reviewed a few IT Cosmetics products, but Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream is definitely a very close second to the Celebration Illumination foundation (only because I use the powder foundation much more often). This product is a color-correcting cream that you can wear alone or underneath a regular foundation. I've found this product to be so pigmented that I normally wear it alone. It's thick, creamy, and buildable. However, it can be difficult to blend, especially if you accidentally use too much. This pot is very small, so the sticker shock is high when you see what you're getting. Take a look at the size of this pot compared…

Blue Mascara: Does it Work?

Blue Mascara: Does it Work?

Eyes, Product reviews
I got to try out a weird product: Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue Mascara. I know colorful mascara isn't new, and it might not be all that weird to some people, but it was definitely a more out-there, trendy thing for me to use. I was sent this mascara (along with an eyeliner) by Influenster. I've talked about them many times before, but they sometimes send me "voxboxes" with complimentary products for review. I'm not compensated for these reviews, and all opinions are my own. Girlfriend Collective Leggings

Girlfriend Collective Leggings

Style, Style reviews
You probably saw the storm of posts from your friends on Facebook -- the up-and-coming company Girlfriend Collective ran a promotion to give away their leggings for free (although you pay the $20 shipping from the factory in Vietnam). I decided to go for it because I love leggings, and it's nice to try a new brand without spending the $50+ good-quality leggings cost nowadays. I knew that even if I didn't wear them much, $20 is not a huge loss. As I read about the company, the more I was sold. The company is fair-trade and uses recycled materials (they fully explain all of this on their website). In fact, the leggings are made from recycled water bottles, yet the company claims that they're extremely soft. They also claim that these leggings keep…

First Impression + Review: Juvia’s Place Nubian I and II Palettes

First Impression + Review: Juvia’s Place Nubian I and II Palettes

Beauty steals, Eyes, First impressions, Palettes and sets, Product reviews, Videos
I was SO excited to try these palettes. Juvia's Place is an indy makeup brand and they've had a ton of success from their Nubian palettes. You may have seen some hype surrounding their newest release, the Saharan palette. I only heard about it after I made my purchase, though, so I only have the first and second palettes. This brand is cruelty-free, and most of their products are vegan (these two palettes are). Their brushes are cruelty-free, so next time I need brushes I might check them out! Their palettes and colors are inspired by the people and culture of different places in Africa. I came across the Nubian I palette on Pinterest, and then realized I'd seen it on Jaclyn Hill's channel. I also got the Nubian II palette…

Suave Professionals Refresh & Revive Dry Shampoo

Hair, Product reviews
I've taken a bit of a break recently. I'm planning on making a "catch-up" video soon, and I'm getting back on my planning game for more blog posts and videos to come. I'm noticing a sort of cadence in my posting frequency, and I want to try and always stay ahead of the inevitable breaks that need to happen due to my job and personal life. Anyway, I'll leave the rest of that to my next video! Today, I want to share a dry shampoo with you. I have an intense affair with dry shampoos because I always forget to shower at a time that works for my hair. I shower at night, but if I don't leave enough time for my hair to air-dry, I end up with a very itchy and flaky…

TMI Review: Baby Foot Molts my Feet

Product reviews, Skin
I think this is my grossest review yet. Somewhere in the depths of the Internet, I heard about this amazing foot mask that basically makes your feet molt over the span of a week. I walk to and from work every day, so my feet were getting gnarly. I was even starting to feel physical pain as my dry, calloused skin rubbed the bottoms of my shoes. It was time for a MAJOR pedicure. I was ready to peel off all my skin and start over... I purchased my Baby Foot mask for about $15 on Amazon, and it's on Prime, so I got it in a couple days. As I waited for it to arrive, I read a ton of reviews and saw so many reviewer photos of their feet completely peeling off.…

Trying on Bold Lipsticks from the Drugstore

Trying on Bold Lipsticks from the Drugstore

Beauty hauls, Lips, Product reviews, Videos
I'M LOVING THIS WEIRD LIPSTICK TREND. Also, I love starting all my blog posts with all caps... Lots of brands are coming out with bold, crazy lipsticks. Now it's easy to get them from the drugstore, too! I grabbed a few shades of the new Maybelline Loaded Bolds collection, and some new shades from the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick collection. I also had Stone Fox from their original shades too. Here are the Maybelline shades I got... Left to right: Maybelline Loaded Bolds in Gone Greige, Wickedly White, Chocoholic, Violet Vixen, and Sapphire Siren Gone Greige is a beautiful nude-but-not-boring shade. It's a true matte and goes on really pigmented and smooth. It will definitely be my most-used of the bunch. I've been looking for a "greige" lipstick and this one is excellent (and…

VIB Rouge Exclusives: Info, Dupes, and Similar Products

Beauty hauls, Beauty steals, Comparisons, Face, Lips, Nails, Product reviews, Videos
I'M SO GLAD THAT THIS VIDEO + BLOG POST ARE FINALLY SEEING THE LIGHT OF DAY. I've been working on this since February. That's right, February, as in five months ago. Basically, finding dupes takes time, and every time I thought I was done, Sephora kept coming out with more VIB Rouge exclusives! Not to mention all the traveling and the fact that I work full-time. Even at the time I'm posting this, there's been at least one more item added, continually out of stock, and I'm NOT waiting another five months! I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me... I'm sure you understand the dreaded "out of stock" message anyway! VIB Rouge exclusive products are certain shades of popular products that are exclusive to VIB Rouge members. I…
